Red Rose Awards 2016

We are proud to announce that we’ve made it through to the final stage of the Red Rose Awards 2016.

It’s never too early to start

Gabriel Jones is the youngest student to pass through TPW’s training program so far. In a week’s placement from Bacup & Rawtenstal Grammar School, he took up a full time place in the studio, learning about the commercial side of design and more about his main interest – coding.

Bridging the Skills Gap

TPW are proud to announce the forming of an educational union with Blackburn College. The contract means that students and graduates will be passing through the studio on work placements.

Coding Student Gets With the Program at TPW

During the summer holidays from his last year at school, Oswaldtwistle student Zac is spending a week with us, working full time hours. He’s been thrown straight in at the deep end, working on a branding project for a Lancashire school.

Success is Brewing

The latest student has begun his placement with us at TPW. Alex Crangle from St Mary’s Sixth Form College in Blackburn will be with us full-time for the next two weeks. In addition to experiencing the workings of a busy design studio, he has been working on a live brief for a well-known brewery.

Teaching the Teacher!

Sharon Curran is a lecturer at the University Centre at Blackburn College and a first year tutor on the Foundation Degree in Graphic Design. She also runs the Level 1 ICT programme at Blackburn College and teaches Graphics at Level 2 and 3 in Computing. Sharon started with TPW to help produce design work and this has the added bonus of allowing her to update her skills in an industry context.

The latest young person to gain work experience at TPW has completed her short but sweet stay with us. Francesca Harriet Walsh of Wilpshire took time away from her regular studies to sample life inside a working design studio.

Dragon’s Den

TPW’s very own Creative Director Mark Murray was a judge on the panel of Blackburn College’s ‘Dragon’s Den’ of design. The event involved students pitching their concepts and designs to the judges and feedback was given on their creativity and commerciality. Marks were awarded and the chosen winner received a Mall shopping centre voucher.

Hive Business Awards 2015 – TPW are winners!

Well, the results have finally been revealed, and TPW have beaten off stiff competition to win the award for Best Creative Agency in the inaugural Hive Business Awards. The presentation ceremony took place at Blackburn Cathedral, where MD Mark Murray collected the award along with design colleagues Sam Norris and Stephen Crook.

Alcohol Awareness Public Health Campaign Launched

Following our recent shisha smoking awareness campaign aimed at informing young people about the risks in smoking shisha, TPW won the pitch to produce an alcohol awareness public health campaign, again aimed at a young demographic.
